Postoffices

Design for a modular interior system

Client: PTT Post
Design: Total Design team
Project direction: Jelle van der Toorn Vrijthoff

In the nineties, the PTT decided to give the post offices a more open character. Total Design had already designed an extensive modular system for closed security counters in the 1970s, and this had been used for about twenty years. The new modular system consisted of open counters and a retail system used for a postal shop. The whole was taken into use and all post offices were equipped with it. In the years that followed, several adjustments were made by various designers.
