In the early 1990s, Total Design opened an office in Maastricht. At the time, a paper fair was being held at the MEXX convention center. The fair showcased everything from Bible paper and corrugated cardboard to handmade paper and mass-produced varieties, as well as every type of packaging paper. It seemed like the perfect opportunity to attract some attention by setting up an exhibition stand, which we did in style—entirely made of paper. Our stand was awarded third prize for best design. Not bad for a small stand with a modest budget.
